One Visit CEREC Crowns
CEREC Dentist Kanata - One Day Crowns
One of the most popular services provided at our Kanata office is our CEREC One Day Crowns. Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) allows us to restore damaged or decayed teeth in one streamlined office visit. With extensive training and experience, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed Birnbaum is a well respected CEREC Dentist in the Kanata area.
Treatment for a damaged, broken, or decayed tooth usually calls for a crown to be placed. However, this treatment process may take longer, as creating the restoration takes time. At our Kanata dental practice, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed saves your time by utilizing CEREC® technology to create all-porcelain crowns in just one appointment. This aesthetic treatment fully restores the function and health of your smile.
What is CEREC?
Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics is a combination of software and an in-office milling station that provides our patients with same day all-porcelain restorations.
Dr. Ahmed takes a 3-D model of your smile from a digital scan, and then utilizes CEREC® CAD/CAM technology to design your personalized crown. These digital images make taking impressions easier and more comfortable than traditional methods. Your custom restoration design is then sent to our milling station to be milled out of a solid block of ceramic, creating your all-porcelain custom crowns in one-visit, and that blends with the aesthetics of your neighboring teeth.
The Benefits of Same-Day Crowns in Kanata
Utilizing CEREC® technology, our dental practice is equipped to provide effective dental treatments that save you time. As crowns can be used to encapsulate root canal treatments for infected dentition, or to be supported by dental implants for patients missing teeth, our CEREC® one-visit crowns fit your specific dental needs by offering several benefits:
Convenience and Comfort
Traditional restorations take several days to create, and as you wait temporaries are placed until you come in to get the final crown placed. There is no need for placement or removal of temporary restorations, or the need to for a second appointment to place the final crown.
Creating these temporaries and the final restoration utilizes putty impressions that can be uncomfortable for patients. With CEREC® CAD/CAM technology, we can create your final restoration within your time schedule without the use of traditional impression material.
High-Quality Materials & Experience
A unique experience at Dentistry & Kanata, patients can place the block of ceramic within the milling station, for a truly personalized restoration. Biocompatible and highly cosmetic, these all porcelain CEREC® crowns match the shade and sheen of your natural tooth.
